Remembering Michael Greer

I met Michael Greer back in the late sixties (?) when he was appearing in a Drag Show at the Redwood Inn titled Jack and The Giants.  He did an act called Don’t Mess With Mona in which he played the Mona Lisa.  I still remember his opening line, “Psst, kid, got a cigarette?”  It was one of the funniest routines I’ve ever seen, bar none.   Later, I saw him in the film, Fortune and Men’s Eyes, with Sal Mineo and Don Johnson.  He was an “out” actor long before it became a kind of fashion.

About elrondsilvermaul

I never know what to say about myself. I let what I write try to speak as to who I am. I can only add, here, that I am 72, live in a nursing home, am twenty years a cancer survivor, and identify as a gay male. I intend to use this blog as storage for poems? written over the long years (and still being written). This does not preclude other uses.
