“Time is a measurement of change between one thing and another. Where there is no thing, there is no time (change), where there is no change (time), there is nothing. Nothing equals zero.”
I wrote these lines in my personal journal many years ago, under the title “The Only Eternity is Zero”. I was reminded of them when listening to a podcast which referenced the idea, proposed by Steven Hawkings in papers published in 1968 and 1970, that time had a finite beginning. Hearing that reference created, within me, a sense of personal validation. Unfortunately, my philosophical apperception lacked Mathematics.
