100 Words- June 21- Charleston shootings

It’s been four days since the Charleston, South Carolina shootings, but with all the noise, and by noise, I mean the constant attempts at misdirection (the NRA, e.g., is blaming the massacre on the victims for not having guns in Bible Class) of the event by the right-wing, it feels like it happened two weeks ago.

Events, however, are moving quickly, The suspect is in custody and been arraigned. My understanding is that he has confessed. There is the possibility of a death sentence, but what’s the point? One more death won’t cancel the eight others.

Hate is so ugly.

About elrondsilvermaul

I never know what to say about myself. I let what I write try to speak as to who I am. I can only add, here, that I am 72, live in a nursing home, am twenty years a cancer survivor, and identify as a gay male. I intend to use this blog as storage for poems? written over the long years (and still being written). This does not preclude other uses.
